The Impact of Domestic Violence on Your Legal Practice: Views from the Bench - Free Webinar

Thursday, September 17, 2020

Identifying a survivor of intimate partner violence isn’t as simple as looking for black eyes and bruises. Domestic violence is a pattern of coercive and assaultive behaviors abusers use to control their intimate partners. Join our panel of judges and subject matter experts in a discussion about the necessity of ethical and effective representation for survivors. The panel will discuss how to effectively spot the signs of coercive control, understand common tactics of abuse, and explain how coercive control might show up in your legal practice. In support of the POWER Act (Pro Bono Work to Empower and Represent), a free training webinar will be offered for attorneys of the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri on September 30th from 12:00-1:30 p.m. This free program has been approved for 1.8 MCLE. See the attached invitation for registration. Registration deadline is Monday, September 28.
