Thursday, August 14, 2025

The Honorable William H. Webster passed away last week at the age of 101.  Judge Webster was appointed as a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri in 1970 and then as a United States Circuit Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in 1973.  He later served as the director of the FBI and CIA. Though his illustrious career reached far and wide, he was said to have always considered St. Louis his home. He was deeply respected by those he served with on the bench. No details on arrangements are available. We as a court mourn his passing, admire his legendary career, and honor his exemplary service.
